A school in West Yorkshire chose to invest in advanced heating technology to substantially reduce its carbon footprint and save money in the process.
The ancient cast iron floor standing boiler was replaced with cascaded commercial condensing units, giving an instant increase in efficiency of 30%.
In addition to the improvements in plant, the school installed advanced controls with weather compensation, multiple zoning and active radiator valves.
The results were even better than predicted, with a saving on gas of 42% in the following year.
